The Polyglot Gathering Online was never meant to happen. For its seventh incarnation, the Polyglot Gathering was to take place for the first time in Poland. But, after the first three years in Berlin and another three in lovely Bratislava, we’ll have to wait to next year to explore Teresin (just outside Warsaw).
Once it became clear that the pandemic meant there couldn’t be physical event, the organisers did a great job in making the Gathering “virtual”. In the spirit of keeping the show on the road, I thought I’d attempt to vlog the event again this year.
The result was three Polyglot Gathering Online daily vlogs. So far, I’ve published two of them (third to follow).
If you took part in the Polyglot Gathering Online, I hope that my take will bring back memories. If you didn’t I hope that these vids will encourage you to come next year, or to find the support of fellow learners in some other way.
As always, I’ve tried to convey the spirit of the Gathering rather than the detail of the individual talks. I hope you’ll want to follow those in full when they appear on the Gathering’s YouTube channel.
