It’s Tuesday night, the end of Day 2 of my five-day crash course in beginners’ Indonesian. I got a good start this morning, even before I left my Yogyakarta hotel room: a 45 minute lesson on italki with Zacky, the teacher I met up with in a café yesterday afternoon.
I had a different teacher at the school today for my daily 10:15 to 12:00 session: a young lady called Anngun. She was patient and encouraging. I learned the names of some common objects in Indonesian and took down several phrases such as “I don’t understand” and “please repeat that again slowly” that need to be in every new learner’s toolbox.
I clocked up a couple of hours’ study in my hotel room late afternoon before going out in search of nourishment. Then the day ended with, erm, something of a splash.
The video’s still uploading. It’s only eight mins long but looks like it’s going to take at least an hour. It’s 20 to midnight and I need to crash out having only had four hours’ sleep last night. Will update this short post with the link later or tomorrow morning. Thanks for staying tuned 🙂
UPDATE – Wednesday morning. Here I am again, the video crashed last night after about an hour but it worked overnight. Hope you like it 🙂
Next in series: the third day at the language school (it doesn’t rain, but it pours. New vocab and a new US president on my mind)
