Thanks a lot for reading and for the comment, Carol. I studied in Oxford and it is certainly a special place. I would love to study Chinese at some point. The Welsh are doing a lot to revive the language, but there’s a lot more yet to do. I like to compare the situation in the Basque Autonomous Region, where they are a long way ahead in many ways.

This website is too much fun! I found out about you while researching about the Polyglot Conference. I hope I can come someday. Last year we visited my son in Oxford while he was doing a study abroad year there. I fell in love with the town and have continued connections to Oxford in any way I can. I am studying Chinese and would like to become accomplished enough to read the Monkey King. Your story helps me believe I can do this, even though my Chinese teachers warn that it will be hard because of the old style of the language in the story. I am also studying French. I am interested in Welsh after reading about educational theories from Wales and learning that the children study Welsh in school.
Your introduction video was fanrastic. I thought you fell in the pool on purpose. I am sorry you hurt your ankle. To me you became the Dr. Who of language learning. I hope you don’t mind!
